While most of us in general struggle to cut the learning curve when we first try to make money online, it is often female internet marketers that feel as if they're pushing a bolder uphill at times. The difference between a male internet marketer and a female internet marketer trying to make heads or tails out of all the information, systems and methods is that women wind up doing it in heels and a bra.
In all seriousness though, if you do a quick check on who is at the top of the food chain when it come to internet marketers you will see that this is a very male dominated industry. While there may be a handful of female internet marketers that are doing rather well, on a whole you will find that those that are considered successful or gurus are men.
If you have an answer for why this is I’d be happy to know! There really should be at least a dozen or so insanely successful female marketers out there being driven around in stretch limos and being entertained by a posse of firm young men that cater to her every wish and whim. You would think that we would have seen at least one huge launch for a product brought to you by your average housewife. But I’ll believe it when I see it, I guess. I know it will happen it’s just a matter of when, right?
Sadly, one of the main reasons why the success rate of female internet marketers doesn’t follow along with the natural cross section of society is because of our limiting beliefs. What we think and feel keeps us from achieving our goals in the same way that the guys do. If you really delve into this you might find that subconsciously you really do think that you can’t become as successful as the guys because you’re just a girl.
While it is true that this skewed demographic is also present in other industries and it is not just present when it comes to internet marketing. There are fewer top executives in almost all industries in the corporate world in spite of the fact that we make up approximately half of the world’s population. This just doesn’t add up! Half is half and common sense should tell us that if we make up about half the work force then we should make up half of the executive positions. It is my belief that there are also many gender stereotypes that hold women like us back.
For instance, do you think that you will lose some of your femininity if you become more successful than your male counterpart? Do you worry that you will be less attractive if you put a guy in a bad light by being smarter, richer, more successful or more influential? I am serious here! Look deep down inside and answer these questions for yourself. How do you feel and how would you feel if you starting making mad cash online? Would you worry that it would become more of a problem in your relationship or that people would think of you differently?
The real danger in all of this limiting thinking is that it makes your dreams a distant and often painful mirage that you think will never come to fruition. You might not know exactly why you can't push beyond the success and this is why I encourage you to spend some time looking inwards towards what is holding you back from being really successful. After all, this stuff isn't that complicated. It is often our inner beliefs that hold us back and for us women it is usually just the fact that we are women that holds us back.
Take some quiet time, close your eyes and listen to your heart. Can you feel resistance to the thought of being wildly successful? What is the problem and how can you talk yourself through a solution. If it is the fact that you're a woman and that all the other really successful marketers are guys then is it that gender's member that makes them so powerful when it comes to making money online? You might think that this is ridiculous. Use that ridiculous thought to push aside that limiting belief and find other limiting beliefs that may be holding you back. Push those aside and replace them with empowering beliefs.
I honestly can see a day when women will be viewed as complete equals to men when it comes to internet marketing. We can do this and still maintain our femininity, style and grace as we help both other women and men alike to realize their dreams and goal and become successful ourselves. We can do anything that any guy can do but we do it with more style and with a kicking pair of pumps!
